Design Concepts
願景：國家門戶新地標 – 淡水夕照新風貌
跨 越天塹：藉由興築橋樑，人員物資得以跨越天然障礙，民眾及地區獲致連結；就此觀之，橋樑及相關基建設施對改善常民生活暨振興經濟發展著有裨益。具前瞻願景 決策者及規劃師對新北市 – 包含淡水區及八里區 – 整體發展業有擘劃；而位於淡水河口並與負盛名淡水夕照互相烘托映襯，淡江大橋必將成為北台灣最受矚目象徵性地標。
• 無分晝夜且尤其在落日餘暉氛圍中，獨特造型橋塔具有定義橋型外觀顯著地位；發想自鄰近十三行遺址所發掘先民遺物紡錘外型，進而將量體規模、比例、以及與週 邊環境諧和性等因素一併納入考量，並完整因應橋樑各類使用者不同需求而發展出本橋專屬橋塔外觀造型。藉由特殊反光材質貼飾，橋塔將映照夕陽溫潤光暈，吸引 遊人駐足置身於天然炫目光影美景中。
• 主梁外觀優美修長，意象上形似三條緞帶，無縫銜接兩端，且維繫主跨斜張橋與引橋間結構及視覺整體連續性；此點就本橋型方案而言事關緊要。將主梁分為三支大梁則其間隙容許陽光穿透，在橋下形成宜人且具日照採光開放空間。
• 日暮時分，橋體將藉由靈動照明藝術與西沈夕陽交相輝映，呈現晝夜交替時海天一色瑰麗景緻。
• 觀景平台在橋塔處與其他橋樑結構元件整合，從而吸引遊客將大橋本身視為一遊憩景點。雖係緣起自功能需求考量，本團隊發揮創意將必要設施轉化為遊憩資源。觀景平台內部將以呈現溫潤色澤材質加以裝修，除須呼應橋塔表面貼飾色彩外，其色澤選用與夕照光影變化相融合更為重要。
Vision: A New Landmark of Taiwan – A New Scenic View of Tamsui Sunset
Bridging the gap: Construction of bridges allows people and goods to cross over natural obstructions – connecting people and regions. In this way bridges and related infrastructure improves the daily life of people and provides a boost for economic development. Visionary decision makers and planners have conceived the masterplan for development of New Taipei city including the Tamsui and Bali area. Located at the Tamsui Estuary and framing the famous Tamsui sunset, Danjiang Bridge will become an iconic landmark for this amazing region in Northern Taiwan.
• The distinctive pylons define the overall appearance of the bridge both at day and night and during the fabulous sunset. Inspired by spindles found in the ruins of ancient Shisanhang indigenous people, the shape of the pylons is tailor-made in response to the particular requirements to functionality for bridge users taking scale, proportions and relationship with the surroundings into account. Provided with a special reflective gilding, the pylons capture the warm glow of the sunset and invite visitors to take part in the spectacular scenery.
• The deck is a slender, elegant line which has been designed to appear as three seamless ribbons from one end to the other maintaining structural and visual continuity between the cable stayed bridge and the approaches which is essential for the overall appreciation of the project. Separating the deck into three individual girders allows light to penetrate through the openings creating a pleasant, light space underneath.
• At dusk, carefully choreographed architectural lighting responds to the setting sun’s ever-changing illumination that connects the sea to the sky and day to night.
• Viewing platforms are integrated with the structural elements of the bridge at the pylons inviting visitors to adopt the bridge itself as a recreational area. Born out of a functional requirement the team has used its creativity to embrace a necessity and turn it into an asset. The interior of the viewing platforms will be clad in materials with a warm hue to accentuate the relationship with the pylon gilding and most importantly: With the Tamsui sunset.
