這是最好的時代，希望的啟程，期許臺灣將有一座新的大橋，世界將有一座新的地標。淡江大橋的設計創作過程，重現了現代橋樑工程的發展軌跡，這項工作是由對環境的熱情與承諾來帶動，志在為淡水河兩岸的自然人文地景量身訂作一座世界一流的大跨度橋樑。
It is the best of times, it is the spring of hope. Taiwan will have a new bridge. The process of the design creation for Danjiang Bridge personifies the evolution of modern bridge engineering. The work is spurred on by burning enthusiasm and a staunch commitment to creating a world-class design which is best suited to the Danjiang environment.
通透 Transparency
大橋對淡水河口最好的致敬就是"透"，力求使橋體更輕、更透，更極簡，以此融入淡水八里的文化地景之中，不管是晨曦或黃昏，遠看皆呈現海天三線的自然景緻。 “透" 是最重要的精神，它將貫穿所有的設計內涵，因為透所以獨特，因為獨特，所以是世界級大橋。
Transparency is the best salute to Tamsui River. The lighter, minimalist structure integrates itself into the cultural landscapes of Tamsui and Bali. No matter day and night，the optimized vertical alignments provide the maximum clarity for viewing Tamsui sunset and landscape in daylight. Transparency is the most important spirit throughout all design. It brings uniqueness to the bridge and makes the bridge a world-class one.
擁抱 Embrace
對 外傳達的意念 在思考整個大橋意義的過程裡，我們強烈感受到淡水八里未來因橋整合，將成為新河口城市的跨時代願景，兩岸在生活、休閒、產業、空間、交通等方面，將合為一 體，啟動新一輪成長動能，在這關鍵時刻，我們希望大橋能正面傳達這份共榮合作、樂觀、包容、擁抱彼此的新時代意義。
The image we want to deliver We are strongly aware of the integration of Tamsui & Bali will be transformed into a new marine city. All the aspects such as living, recreation, industry, open space, transportation will be closely linked together and initiate a new growth of the city. At this critical moment, we hope that the bridge will positively deliver the new era’s images of collaboration, optimism and embrace to the people.
和諧 Unity
大橋追求與文化、環境、視覺、結構、成本效益、施工、維護與鄰里回饋之間取最大公約數，以整合式設計在成本預算下，做最好的事。
We pursue a fully unified design to integrate the bridge structure with landscape, culture and environment as well as budget, construction and maintenance. Under the unified thinking, we will accomplish the best results within budget.
創新，獨特，純美 Innovation, Unique, and Pure Artistry
本橋採用先進的創新塔型，獨特的橋塔雕塑造型，多稜面外型的塔軸是橋樑，工學與藝術家精心設計的成果。經過深化發展後在視覺上更見纖薄，燈光及倒影交錯，創造出壯麗的景象，其獨特的設計是流線型和華麗的。大橋象徵著臺灣跨越時代的演變，是臺灣與世界連結的國際地標。
The bridge is truly outstanding and immediately distinguishable by the sculptural shape of it pylons. Multi-faceted faces are sculptured in the pylon shafts. This substantially enriches the visual slimness and creates a majestic interplay of light and shadow on the polygonal faces. The grand unified design is streamlined and magnificent. The bridge symbolizes the evolution of our heritage into our bright future. It is a timeless icon for Taiwan and for the whole world.
